Carle PlaceA world of blooming green
One that’s rarely seen But when one does see It nags them like a bee We may not be number one We may not touch the sun A million fans we may never get Our lives may never set But one glance truly shows A steady molded pose Each simple section Is carved perfection We let ourselves soar An imperfect core Allows us to change A far shooting range In a pitch perfect sky There we all lie A heightened new pace Another lost race Poem Annotation: “A world of blooming green” This is to symbolize CP frogs, which are green And it is a “world” because CP is like it’s own little private world/community “One that is rarely seen” This indicates that CP is a community/school that is not well known, Or as said earlier, private-like “But when one does see It nags them like a bee” This represents that on the few occasions that we are seen, Or experienced, It isn’t that easy to just forget all about CP “We may not be number one We may not touch the sun A million fans we may never get” This is to symbolize that, we are NOT the best That we may not reach new heights, And we probably won’t become famous “Our lives may never set” This is to represent our lives may constantly change, It is not like a nail and bolt, Set firmly into place We will adopt to given circumstances “But one glance truly shows A steady molded pose Each simple section Is carved perfection” This is to represent that the way CP kids are, Is molded by themselves Or in other words, They create how they are, and how they react to certain situations And each part of how they are is carefully made over a long process “We let ourselves soar” Ever hear the terminology “The sky's the limit” This line is to represent that CP tries to go closer and closer to the boundary and achieve much “An imperfect core Allows us to change” The “Imperfect Core” is your inner self Being that it is imperfect, means much can be added and contributed to it Which leads to change and a greater you “A far shooting range” We have a large area to work with, And our goals are far, but achievable As it is still the shooting range “In a pitch perfect sky” The perfect sky is the road laid out for us by peers and adults alike The road is perfect and clear Carefully led by each word or act By teachers, friends parents siblings etc. “There we all lie” And we are exactly on that road, And CP students will continue to create their future paths From the baseline, Laid by everyone “A heightened new pace” This part show we are constantly pushing and improving ourselves to new levels “Another lost race” This final line is a semi cliffhanger It proves that there are definitely others better than CP But, the “another” also proves that despite many let-downs we continue to strive to higher areas And improve ourselves, For next time CP is persistent This is every one of you in CP Don’t be let down Because key to success Is not giving up first Along with other contributing factors But I disagree The sky is not the limit The universe is And, there is much space in the universe for you to thrive So go ahead And construct yourself a great future! But, don’t settle too much And always prepare for change through compliments and criticism
