“She was following the mysterious girl into an alleyway, when suddenly she was shoved against the wall, a knife at her throat.” Georgia Fenchurch is just your average modern day Victorian bookshop owner, or so you think. She is really a member of the secret Archivist Society, in England. The archivist society was almost like a secret police, for they dealt with crimes no average citizen would know about. This time the crime is the murder of a Russian guard who was guarding the Queen’s cousin, princess Kira. Now Georgia must go undercover again to see who was posing a threat to the Royal family, but what happens when everyone has secrets, and no one is who they think they are? And most importantly, will she succeed before the mysterious murderer kills the whole royal family? Some of the features I liked best about this book were the setting, and the characters. I liked the setting of the book because I thought the Victorian time in England was the perfect setting for a mystery book like this. The Victorian time in England was a hopeful and busy time, and something like the murder of a princess’ guard could go without even being noticed, if it was not for the help of the Archivist Society. Also, I liked the characters in the book because I thought they fit together nicely. There are many types of social classes between the characters, for example Georgi Royal class. This book will keep you on the edge of your seat, waiting to find out what happens next. If you are a reader who likes mystery, suspense, action, and adventure this book is definitely a is a middle class citizen, and one of her partners, The Duke of Blackford, is in thefor you.
